Data Retention Policy

This policy explains how long Plannerday Ltd keeps the personal data processed through MoneyHive, and when it is deleted. It supplements our Privacy Policy. We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out below, or as required by law.

1. Retention schedule

• Account data (name, email, settings): kept while your account is active, and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of account closure.
• Budget data you enter (income, outgoings, savings, reminders, categories, history): kept while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of account closure.
• Billing records (subscription and payment records held by us and by Stripe): retained for up to 7 years after the transaction to meet UK tax and accounting obligations.
• Security and audit logs (sign-in events, significant actions): typically retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Support correspondence: retained for up to 24 months after the matter is resolved.
• Backups: encrypted backups may retain copies of data for up to 35 days after deletion from the live system, after which they are overwritten on the normal backup cycle.

2. Deleting your account

You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time from within the app or by emailing [email protected]. When you do, we delete or anonymise your account and budget data within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep (such as billing records, as above).

3. Inactive accounts

If an account remains inactive and unpaid for an extended period, we may notify you and then close and delete it in line with the schedule above.

4. Legal holds

Where we are required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request to preserve specific data, we will retain that data for as long as the obligation applies, even if it would otherwise be due for deletion.
